It was a very impressive pile. Probably the biggest pile of tree debris that we've had.

14 March 2026 – YARMOUTH, MA – The Town of Yarmouth brought in timber industry level trucks to manage the mountain of pines that the February blizzard felled across town lands.

Town of Yarmouth DPW Director Jeff Colby  said that heathy trees came down in the storm, which set it apart of other storms which normally take down weaker trees and branches. The net result was a clean up effort that required more than town resources could handle.

The town contracted logging style trucks and giant clawed tree machines to tackle the 18+ foot piles of trees that met their tragic end under the powerful winds and heavy snow.

“It was a very impressive pile,” Colby said. “Probably the biggest pile of tree debris that we’ve had.”
