2026 Town Elections Overview
Spring election season has arrived and 14 Cape Cod communities will hold an annual town election this May, in the wake of their respective town meetings.
Municipalities operating with a town meeting or representative town meeting form of government hold an annual election every spring. This applies to every town on the Cape except Barnstable, which runs under a town council structure.
When does voting happen?
This year, in-person polling dates take place between May 7 and May 19, depending on the community. Residents must register to vote prior to their town’s registration deadline and, if they so desire, apply for a mail-in ballot before a town-specified applicated deadline.
